This album definitely changed my music listening. granted, i still listened to some shitty music in junior/senior high but the first time i heard appetite (december of 1987) i went nuts. i got the tape for christmas from a cousin (along w/ some def leppard tape). i popped the GnR into the walkman &amp; my mind was blown. i remember opening the fold of the cover up &amp; seeing that disturbing pic of the robot &amp; woman. i also distinctly remember my parents hearing this &amp; the crue&#39;s &#39;shout at the devil&#39; lord of the rings are my limits. i tried watching the first harry potter movie &amp; wanted to stab a pen into my eye. the fact grown ups stand in line for hours, even days, to buy these books astounds me. what&#39;s more astounding is the people lining up for these books aren&#39;t your typical dorks. it&#39;s average people: housewives, soccer moms, college students. i just saw on the news they&#39;re putting tracking devices on delivery trucks to make sure they go on their correct route!! are you f&#39;in kidding me? it&#39;s a goddamn book. and on the other side, you have the nut cases who won&#39;t let their kids watch because it might start them on the path of sacrificing goats &amp;
